Getting Started At Walgreens

Best Blogger Tips

Coupon Policy:
Walgreens accepts manufacturer coupons, Walgreens in-ad store coupons, Walgreens Instant Value Coupon Booklet, Register Rewards (RR) and internet printable coupons. Walgreens does not doubles coupons. Walgreens will also take expired coupons if they expire within the week that you are visiting. This is based on the decision of your manager, but most will allow it. For example, today is June 30, but your coupon expired June 27, they will let you use that coupon.

Walgreens also allows you to use a B1G1 FREE coupon combined with a B1G1 FREE sale, therefor getting both items for FREE. You will have to pay tax.

Walgreens also allows you to "stack" coupons. This is where you use a Walgreens store coupon, in-ad coupon or Instant Value Coupon combined with a manufacturer coupon.  For example......

Gillette Body Wash is on sale for $4.99 each
use $2.00 off 1 manufacturer coupon and
use the $2.00 off 1 Instant Value Coupon
pay .99 out of pocket

The only problem that you will have with this is, Walgreens registers count each item purchased per coupon, even though both coupons are for the same item. So you have to purchase a small "filler" item so that the register reads 2 items and 2 coupons. There are always small pieces of candy at the front for around .33 that you could throw in.

Ads Run:
Walgreens ads run from Sunday through Saturday.

Shoppers Card:
Walgreens does not offer a shopper's card of sort at this time.

Reusable Bags:
Walgreens does not offer any discount for bringing your own shopping bags.

Additional Information:
Walgreens offers rain checks for items that are listed in their ad that they are out of. Take the Walgreens ad to the cashier and ask them for a rain check for the items that you want. Walgreens rain checks do not expire. So hold onto them until the item that you want comes in.

Rolling Register Rewards- Walgreens is a little tricky when it comes to rolling Register Rewards. This is were you can use the Register Rewards that print from one offer to then turn around and purchase the same item again and again reusing the Register Rewards to pay for the next purchase that offers a Register Rewards. Confused yet? Here is an example of what rolling mean.....

Sale ad says...
Buy 1 Gillette Razor at $8.99 each, get back a $4 Register Rewards, you also have a $4 manufacturer coupon, this is what you can do.

 Transaction 1.......
Buy 1 Gillette Fusion at $8.99 each
use 1 Gillette Fusion manufacturer coupon $4.00 off 1

pay $4.99 out of pocket, get back $4 Register Rewards

Transaction 2.....
Buy another Gillette Fusion at $8.99 each
use another Gillette Fusion manufacturer coupon $4.00 off 1
use $4.00 Extra Care Bucks from first transaction
= pay .99 out of pocket, but you will not get back $4 Register Rewards

The reason why the second Register Rewards will not print out is because, the original Register Rewards is for the same product. But you can do this....

Sale ad says...
Buy 1 Gillette Razor at $8.99 each, get back a $4 Register Rewards, use a $4 manufacturer coupon

Buy 1 Complete Contact Solution at $8.99 each, get back a $4 Register Rewards, use a $4 manufacturer coupon

  Transaction 1.......
Buy 1 Gillette Fusion at $8.99 each
use 1 Gillette Fusion manufacturer coupon $4.00 off 1

pay $4.99 out of pocket, get back $4 Register Rewards

Transaction 2.....
Buy Complete Contact Solution at $8.99 each
use Complete Contact Solution manufacturer coupon $4.00 off 1
use $4.00 Extra Care Bucks from first transaction
= pay .99 out of pocket, get back $4 Register Rewards
and so on and so on....

Walgreens does only allow you to get 1 Register Rewards offer per transaction, but most locations do not mind that you do more than one transaction. Again this is based on your manager decision.  This is called rolling.
